Meet Ms. Laura Awadeesia, Head of Section Two

It is my pleasure to lead Section 2 at College De La Salle starting this year. I also serve as the English Coordinator for K-8. Since 2015, I have been a part of the De La Salle College family, bringing over 20 years of experience in teaching and coordinating English. My career includes 10 years in international schools in the Gulf and Jordan, as well as training English teachers both within and outside our institution. My expertise is built upon extensive training in various subjects related to English, international programs, and teaching methodologies.

Our team of leaders is dedicated to creating the best learning environment for our students. This team includes:

Teachers

Our teaching staff brings a wealth of expertise across various domains, including languages, sciences, mathematics, religious studies, design, arts, and physical education. Many of our teachers hold advanced degrees in engineering and other fields, all dedicated to creating optimal learning opportunities for our students

Aims,
At Section 2: the student is at the center of the learning process. Our aims are:

1. Shape well-balanced personalities ready to embrace life's needs.
2. Foster a sense of responsibility, enabling students to own their learning process.
3. Provide opportunities for communication with local and international societies.
4. Enhance learners' critical thinking skills and creativity.
5. Provide solid knowledge of subjects with a real-life approach.
6. Create a sense of belonging and identity towards the school and local community, while fostering an open-minded approach towards the world.
7. Foster an environment of respect for individuals, the community, and the world.

Program Details

● Grade: 6 - 8
● Age: 12 years – 14 years
● Days: All Week except Friday - Sunday (5 days a week)

Approach

To achieve our aims, we focus on providing the best learning environment for our students through up-to-date teaching strategies and comprehensive knowledge across all subjects. Our approach involves active learning that engages students and shapes their personalities.

Section 2 covers the academic requirements of each program while offering various activities to build character, such as theater-related shows, language competitions, the Spelling Bee, Math Marathons, Science and Art Fairs, and community service activities.
